In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to install remix OS on VMware with step by step guide. Remix OS is a modified version of Android that can run on practically any PC. It remixes Android into a desktop operating system, complete with applications running in windows, a Start menu, taskbar, desktop, and notification area. With rumors that Google might merge Chrome OS and Android, and Google’s desire to add split-screen multitasking to the Pixel C with future versions of Android, Remix OS might just be a peek at the future of Android.
Remix OS Recommended System Required
- 2 GHz dual core processor or batter
- 2 GB system memory
- Minimum 8 GM of free hard drive space
- Internet access is helpful
How to Install Remix OS on VMware Workstation
Now to install remix OS on VMware you need to download and install VMware Workstation on your pc. The required file are hare.
Create a New Virtual Machine
#1 – To create new virtual machine Open the VMware Workstation then tap on “New Virtual Machine” then Select the type of virtual machine you want to create and click Next.
#2 – on the hardware compatibility page, click next.
#3 – Select your guest operating system (OS) then click next. You can install the OS using:
- An Installer disc (CD/DVD)
- An installer disc image file (ISO)
#4 – choose Linux for type and for Version choose Other Linux (64-bit) then click next.
#5 – Select a name and folder for the virtual machine and then click next.
#6 – On the processor configuration page, click next. If you selected Custom as your configuration path, you may adjust the memory settings or accept the defaults, then click Next to continue.
#7 – Select your network capabilities, I have select (NAT). Click Next.
8# – Select the disk you want to use with the virtual machine. Click Next.
#9 – Enter the size of the virtual disk that you wish to create. Click next.
#10 – Specify the location of the virtual disk file. Click next.
#11 – Here is the summary of my Remix OS virtual machine. If you like to customize some settings, such as processor cores, network, sound and extra hard disk, then press “Customize Hardware”.
I have selected 2 GB Ram, 2 GHz processor, 30 GB hard disk, and the last one that I have choose the “Remix OS” image file. When you done click OK to close the window.
Install Remix OS in Virtual Machine
1# – Power on your VM by clicking on “Power on this virtual machine” under Commands of left side pane and do the manual installation of your new VM.
#2 – Remix OS will start now. Select “Guest Mode” and click “Tab“. (Resident mode is not working in some devices)
#3 – Wait till Remix OS loads, please be patient, it take some time depending on your allocated RAM.
#4 – Once it completed loading, select language as “English (United States).
#5 – On next screen accept User agreement, to accept click on Agree.
#6 – Now you have to skip, if you want to add a Wi-Fi you can add otherwise click on Skip.
#7 – Click Continue.
- Choose the Popular Apps.
- Choose the Useful App.
- Choose Entertainment Apps.
#8 – Now you have selected all your needed Apps, then click “Install“.
#8 – I would like to activate to Google play service, click next.
Now, you’ve successfully installed the Remix OS on your Computer system, now it’s time to play around with the OS. Here’s the home screen of Remix OS.
